Product Application and Usage
Magnesium oil is a transdermal magnesium supplement, designed to deliver magnesium through the skin, bypassing the gastrointestinal tract for convenient, rapid absorption into the cells.
Your magnesium oil should be applied topically with a fine mist spray bottle. Simply dispense 1-3 sprays into a cupped hand, then rub into the skin thoroughly. Repeat to cover arms, legs, and any areas needing special attention.
Why Ancient Minerals?
The original and still the most popular, Ancient Minerals Magnesium Oil is the most recommended magnesium oil among health practitioners and nutritionists worldwide — recommended specifically by both Dr. Mark Sircus, Ac. OMD, author of Transdermal Magnesium Therapy and Daniel Reid, author of The Tao of Health and The Tao of Detox.
According to Daniel Reid, bestselling author of The Tao of Health and The Tao of Detox:
Of all the sources we’ve tried, Ancient Minerals is the one that delivers the fastest, most potent therapeutic benefits. It contains essential elements that no longer exist in ocean water today, and is totally free of any toxic contaminant.” *
Dr. Carolyn Dean, M.D. N.D., author of the authoritative book on magnesium, The Magnesium Miracle, recommends magnesium oil. She describes it as a a supersaturated magnesium chloride in water, which rubbed on the skin bypasses the intestines as it is absorbed into the tissues of the body. It also stimulates DHEA production that occurs in the skin.

Ancient Minerals takes its name from its ancient and pristine source, the ancient Zechstein Sea, a geological formation in Northern Europe from the Late Permian Era. For 250 million years Genuine Zechstein™ magnesium salt has been protected deep within the Zechstein Seabed at a depth of 1600-2000 meters beneath the earth’s crust, isolated from the impurities of the modern world.
While it is possible to extract magnesium chloride from various ocean water and inland brine sources, it’s important to question the purity of any product derived from sea water that has been exposed to industrial pollutants — similar to concerns regarding the mercury content of fish.
Our magnesium oil utilizes only Genuine Zechstein™ magnesium chloride, the purest and most pristine source of natural magnesium chloride in the world, extracted in a preserved state from an ancient time millions of years prior to our modern age. There are no added ingredients except those found naturally occurring in the deep underground deposits of this pristine source.
Magnesium Oil and Your Health
Magnesium supplementation is considered essential by leading nutrition experts due to the prevalence of magnesium deficiency in the modern diet and magnesium’s crucial role in over 300 fundamental biochemical reactions.
Magnesium deficiency can affect several of the body’s systems, yet many are unaware of the role it plays in optimal health . Long term studies on the impact of high magnesium and fiber diets have shown potential benefits toward cardiovascular health, 1 2 3 insulin resistance, 4 5 and hypertension, 6 as well as chronic symptoms of the muscular and neurological systems.
For those who suspect low magnesium may play a role in chronic ailments, or those who proactively supplement magnesium as a preventive measure, there are several types of oral magnesium available. Yet oral magnesium is not tolerated well by certain individuals, and some forms have been shown to have as low as a 4% absorption rate.
Magnesium oil is unique:
- Closest to ionic form and easily assimilated by the body.
- Tolerated well by those who require large doses of magnesium due to existing deficiencies.
- Delivered through the skin, directly available to muscular systems that require magnesium to function.
Experts such as Dr. Carolyn Dean, M.D. and naturopathic doctor, hail topical magnesium oil as an “exciting addition to the magnesium family” due to its universal ease of use and the high bioavailability of its dominant mineral, magnesium chloride.
What Is “Oil of Magnesium?”
“Magnesium oil” is a term that was coined early in the development of transdermal magnesium therapy. Though applied in a manner similar to beneficial natural oils, magnesium oil in its composition is actually a highly concentrated solution of magnesium chloride in water.
The chemical makeup of magnesium chloride is particularly well suited to topical applications, both due to its unique benefits and low toxicity. 7 Dr. Mark Sircus, OMD, has the following to say about magnesium chloride:
Magnesium chloride is a versatile medicine we can all put in our medicine cabinets. It boosts almost all aspects of cell physiology and can be used orally, intravenously, and transdermally. Magnesium chloride treatments address systemic nutritional deficiencies, act to improve the function of our cells and immune system, and help protect cells from oxidative damage. It’s a systemic medicine as well as a local one bringing new life and energy to the cells wherever it is applied topically.”

What Our Customers are Saying
I no longer have the leg aches or cramps I used to have and I’m sleeping better at night and do not seem to have as much tension. These are great benefits! *
Before magnesium oil, I used to experience debilitating, and excruciating monthly cycles, whereby I would be laid up for the first day, feeling sad and sorry for myself… After using the magnesium spray for only two weeks, I wasn’t expecting any miracles. But alas, the ‘Miracle of Magnesium’ is real…I did not need to take any pain killers as there was NO PAIN whatsoever, a mild twinge at best. *
I just want to say I very, very, rarely lend my name or recommendation to products, but I’m so impressed with the Transdermal Magnesium line from Enviromedica that I wanted to share my experiences with the public so perhaps others can benefit… *
I was very relaxed. I had no pain at all. I went to drive home, and I felt like I had been in a spa for about an hour. I had to be careful driving home because I was so relaxed! *
As soon as my sample was finished, I knew this was a product that I could not go without. Every week my normal deep tissue massage sessions were now always magnesium massage sessions and I purchased the half gallon… I have used it for about 60 days now, and not ONE migraine, not even one headache. This product is amazing and has completely changed my life. *
The moment I sprayed it on my legs, it instantly took the stinging and burning away, and I was just in awe. I could not believe that there was actually a product out there that worked! *
The first day I noticed that I was actually able to sleep for a straight four hours (that’s alot for me!). That was amazing in itself, but it just kept getting better. To make a long story short, I am now sleeping 7-8 hours a night, in the same bed with my husband and the six year problem seems to be a thing of the past. *
I can’t even begin to tell you what this simple mineral has done for me. Within a short period of a couple of weeks I am a different person. No longer am I chasing an elusive creature taking over my life and leaving me in shambles. I am calm and at peace. *
